I recently commented in one of Shaun Kings' diaries that he had not posted any diaries ,that I recalled, addressing the victims of non-police violence in our major cities. In response, someone commented that I should post such a diary, why should it be left up to him. Sounded reasonable enough to me. So here it goes.
Last year, in the city of Milwaukee, 80% of homicide victims were African American, 80% of Aggravated Assault victims were African American, 80% of victims surviving a shooting were African American. This year violence has escalated with homicides up over 76% YTD. The violence escalation is not limited to Milwaukee.

So, what was being done in Milwaukee to stop the violence? Well, apparently there are many separate entities addressing violence issues, but there is no coordinated plan in place in Milwaukee. One is in the works we are told.
But, there other cities in America who have developed plans to deal with violence in their communities. Our local paper had an insightful article discussing Minneapolis, MN and their plan to reduce youth violence. http://www.jsonline.com/...
A simple Google search of, "city plans to reduce violence", reveals other cities with blueprints to address violence.
My questions to readers are, does your city have a plan to reduce violence in your city? Has it been implemented yet? If so, has it been successful?
Please share in this diary your efforts, your cities efforts or any successful efforts you know of to reduce violence locally that may help other cities reduce violence.
