It appears their days in the Michigan legislature are numbered.
Michigan Tea Party darlings Todd Courser and Cindy Gamrat were caught in an affair with a bizarre twist after Courser's former aide
recorded him detailing a plot to hide the affair with a fictional story of him and a male prostitute. The idea was the story would create a "controlled burn" and when news of the affair broke, nobody would believe it.
The Michigan legislature began an investigation because it was alleged they used state resources to coordinate the "controlled burn." Now that a special panel has completed the investigation, they are making a no-nonsense recommendation:
A special panel has recommended expulsion for MI Reps. Todd Courser and Cindy Gamrat following a sex scandal.
The recommendation will now go to the Michigan House for a vote this afternoon.
Other legislatures say the details were embarrassing for the entire state House and they are probably wishing the pair would resign and save everyone the hassle:
St. Rep. Kurt Heise added this has put the institution "into a hole" and they are "obligated to get out of and get out quickly."
Stay tuned. We'll provide an update once the House votes on expulsion.
