With Gov. Walker back in the Republican fortress of the state Capitol building, surrounded on all sides by a rising tide of disapproval, Wisconsin Republicans have decided that Donald Trump is the wise guy of the political moment, giving him a leading 20% of their affection.
And though it comes too late to save the state from three more years of total Republican rule, 62% of state voters say they would now not vote for Walker again.
But the best news is this: Russ Feingold, former Senator, now has a big 14% lead over current Sen. Ron Johnson, and even Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, our truly progressive populist, is more popular among WI voters at present than any of the Republican presidential candidates by a wide margin.
Perhaps Wisconsin is wising up.
