Everyone's reporting that Donald Trump has promised to send all Syrian refugees home if he's elected president: "If I win, they're going back!" In actuality, what
he said about this desperate migration of hundreds of thousands of people was much more twisted and shameless than that:
"They could be ISIS, I don't know. Did you ever see a migration like that? They're all men and they're all strong looking guys. Did you see it? They're walking and there's so many men and there aren't that many women. And I'm saying to myself, 'Why aren't they fighting to save Syria? Why are they migrating all over Europe?'"
The implied conclusion, of course, is that the refugees are all menacing ISIS fighters and they're fixing to take over the world. It's reprehensible. Wonder what Trump makes of the
tragic image of that poor lifeless little boy who washed up on the beach in Turkey. Was he just years away from becoming a terrorist?
Trump will apparently target anyone to his benefit, regardless of how tragic their situation.
