Bristol Palin
Bristol Palin, best known for being the younger version of her mother, Sarah Palin, writes. She's a writer. She gets paid for books and writing blogs concerning her faith and the right-wing worldview she shares with her mother. The Palin name is a brand, like the Kardashians, and the beast must be fed. A couple of days ago, Bristol wrote a piece on
patheos, a "faith-based" website, about intrauterine devices—better known as IUDs. What's Bristol's issue?
Do you remember what it was like to be a 10 year old? I remember being an unabashed tomboy concerned with playing outside and acing 5th grade.
But life isn’t so innocent and carefree for some 10 years old in Washington State. This summer a report came out claiming that some schools in Washington were giving free birth control implants to children as young as 10 years old! These birth control devices are implanted in a girl’s uterus, and all of this can be done without a parent’s consent!
Do you remember when you were a kid? Remember how nice that was before sex? Now all Bristol Palin ever hears about is sex sex sex! She proceeds to site a dubious article on
lifenews, a anti-choice website, which decries the concept of allowing young, sexually active girls the right to free contraception via their state. The big problem is that free contraception means no insurance bill for parents to see, which means parents might not know.
This is frightening to Bristol Palin, not because these girls and young women are sexually active and their parents are unaware of their child's personal development, but because IUDs go in your uterus. It's super gross, guys.
It is crazy that the government is offering a controversial form of birth control that can have serious life-long side effects to 10-year-old CHILDREN, but then to do all of this behind a parent’s back is simply outrageous!
A simple search would show that the IUD isn't a particularly controversial form of birth control.
Try here. That site is called plannedparenthood.org. No idea what they do and I can guarantee neither does Bristol.
In all seriousness, I'm making fun of Bristol because she is followed by young women and is pushing an agenda that misleads and promotes ignorance of women's intelligence and their right to make their own decisions about things. I don't believe she is a malicious woman. I assume she is ignorant to many of these facts of life and her mother's narcissism has forced Bristol, from a very young age, to be under a level of scrutiny and pressure she did not ask for. I'm sure she loves her mother and, like her mother, has found a community of people to support her against all of the rest of us communist, baby killing, drug lords.
