Do we want change or not?
Do we want another imperial president or something more down to earth? A multi-millionaire one-percenter or someone more like us?
Bernie Sanders walks to work
Do we want a plutocrat or a prol? A one-percenter or a commoner? Style or substance? Lies or truth? Government for the 1% or government for us?
It's not just a question of winning. It's also a question of what victory would look like and what it will mean for the causes of peace, equality and life on earth. Whose victory would it be? Who will own the president?
Hillary is beholden to the fossil fuel industry - Bernie is NOT!
Lobbyists for Monsanto, ExxonMobil Raise Money for Hillary Clinton
Registered lobbyists brought in more than $2 million in fundraising for the Clinton campaign, recent filings show.
Bloomberg
It's not just the fossil fuel industry backing Clinton, it's also the big banks – the same ones who crashed the global economy, got bailed out with taxpayer money and got off without significant sanction or punishment. They're all fatter than ever and still in business. And they're still buying elections and turning our government against us.
Why wouldn't we fight back?
"The Koch brothers and other billionaires are going to throw everything they've got at us. Bring it on. At the end of the day, our ideas are supported by the vast majority of the American people. Their ideas are supported by the billionaire class. Guess what? There are more of us than them."
Sen. Bernie Sanders
The established order, the one percent, have been waging class warfare against us for decades. Why on earth would we back
them? Especially when we have such a clear choice, such an unprecedented opportunity to elect a progressive icon and
one of us to the highest office in the land? Does our past struggle mean nothing? Why wouldn't we jump on this rare chance to turn things around?
"They talk about class warfare -- the fact of the matter is there has been class warfare for the last thirty years. It's a handful of billionaires taking on the entire middle-class and working-class of this country. And the result is you now have in America the most unequal distribution of wealth and income of any major country on Earth and the worst inequality in America since 1928.
Bernie Sanders
A lot of people vote out of blind loyalty to a brand. That's not a smart thing to do. When it comes to such weighty matters as who will best serve the interests of the American people and who will give humanity the best chance of survival, it's important to employ critical thinking. This is not a team sport. This is not the Superbowl. This is a crucial and historic election that could decide the fate of humanity. Blind loyalty to those who back the fossil fuel industry would be a tragic mistake, a bone-headed blunder, an amazingly stupid thing to do.
We'd have to be fools.
We need clarity of vision, we need courage and we need to keep fossil fuels in the ground! (Bernie catches up with Cassiodorus from six years ago.)
Bernie wants to fight global warming by banning new coal, oil and gas mining on public land. He cosponsored the Keep it in the Ground Act to stop new drilling leases on public land in the West and in the Gulf of Mexico, Atlantic, Pacific and Arctic oceans. “My hope is that all presidential candidates will join Sen. Merkley and Sen. Warren and others in fighting for this legislation and standing up to the fossil fuel industry.”

Our need for honest leadership has never been greater. I am sick to death of being lied to and cheated by those I help to put in office. It''s time for a change.
