I something think I can't possibly be further surprised by someone's clueless lack of awareness, knowledge of history or even current facts. And then I run into guys who are at the center of stories like this one.
Minn. man says company wrong to fire him over Obama lynching threat: ‘My only regret is being called racist’
A Minnesota man who tweeted lynching threats to President Barack Obama said this week that he was wrongly called a racist and then fired from his job.
“[H]ope to see you hang soon you treasonous fraud,” he tweeted in one message.
“[W]e need ‘ROPE FOR CHANGE’ we still hang for treason don’t we?” another post said.
If you happen to choose to be the kindest person possible you still have to tiptoe past the burning fact that threatening the President of the United States with bodily harm is in fact, a crime. Particularly when you do it in a reply to
his own twitter account. Secondly, you have to hop over the gaping logic chasm created by the fact that there hasn't been a
Federal Execution by Hanging since 1963, 52 years ago when the President was a two-year-old. The three executions have occurred since, including Timothy McVeigh, were performed via Lethal Injection so if someone truly thought that the our current President should be arrested, tried and executed for so-called "treason" - the most likely method wouldn't involve a "Rope".
The most recent documented American Lynching was - believe it or not - much more recent than the last federal hanging execution. It was the 1981 Murder of Michael Donald by members of the Mobile Alabama KKK, using a rope.
But after Mr. Gullikson was fired from his job he still apparently doesn't want anyone to think of Michael Donald when he post pictures of the President in a noose.
“My only regret is being called racist when my opinion of the president has more to do with [Obama] being a communist as opposed to being black,” he told MPR News in an email.
Yeah, the only real problem with that is that the President
is black, the history of using a Rope to extrajudicially murder black men is much more current and relevant that doing so to execute "communist" and also -
the President isn't a Communist Anyway.
And even if he were, it's not an offense punishable as "Treason" where any sort of death penalty would apply.
Unless you happen to be this guy. (More over the flip - Note: Trigger Warning)
Let's get one thing straight, what Mr Gullikson has done is quite possibly criminal.
8 U.S. Code § 871 - Threats against President and successors to the Presidency
(a) Whoever knowingly and willfully deposits for conveyance in the mail or for a delivery from any post office or by any letter carrier any letter, paper, writing, print, missive, or document containing any threat to take the life of, to kidnap, or to inflict bodily harm upon the President of the United States, the President-elect, the Vice President or other officer next in the order of succession to the office of President of the United States, or the Vice President-elect, or knowingly and willfully otherwise makes any such threat against the President, President-elect, Vice President or other officer next in the order of succession to the office of President, or Vice President-elect, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both.
Secondly it's not like threats of this kind don't have a clear precedent - they do.
In 1981, Josephus Anderson, an African American charged with the murder of a white policeman in Birmingham, was tried in Mobile, where the case had been moved. There were indications that the jury was struggling to reach a verdict. At a meeting on Wednesday, within Unit 900 of the United Klans of America, members complained that having African-American members on the jury was the reason it had not convicted Anderson. Bennie Jack Hays, the second-highest-ranking official in the United Klans in Alabama, said: "If a black man can get away with killing a white man, we ought to be able to get away with killing a black man."[4][5] On Friday, a mistrial was declared.
In the civil trial that followed the death of Michael Donald in Alabama the following image was used to show the bias and animous of the local KKK chapter who were ultimately found civilly liable.
This is ultimately what they did to Michael Donald, who was incidentally born in 1961 and was the exact same age as President Obama at the time of his death.
Yet apparently Jeff wasn't thinking of anything like that when he decided to post this image of the President.
Because who in their right mind might possibly be able to look at the above images and think they might have something in common in terms of tone, subject matter and outcome? Who might possibly see a consistent
pattern at play?
Who might be a bit skeptical as they look at the various outlandish claims that the President is simultaneously a Kenyan, a Muslim, a Communist, an Athiest, and also according to Donald Trump and "African American" - but not really a "True" American - while being so weak willed that he'll cowtow to Iran but being so much of a dictator that he'd implement Martial Law via Jade Helm 15 and is the true mastermind behind Benghazi and IRS-Ghazi and Secret Service-Ghazi and Bergdahl-Ghazi and he doesn't deserve the slightest credit for the death of Osama Bin Laden other than giving the exact orders to take him out even if he was hiding in Pakistan the way that he said he would, and he deserves all the blame for I.S.I.S. even though most of those guys are former members Saddam's Batthist military who G.W.Bush put out of a job and gave them excellent motivation to spark the Iraqi insurgency which has now morphed, and he should of course be tried and executed for Treason for his greatest of all crimes: Trying to bring Health Care to more Americans?
When you look at all of the false accusations being lodged at the President, and then you look at how people like Michael Donald were falsely blamed, persecuted, and killed of a hung jury that he personally had nothing to do with -- again, a pattern emerges.
And a key element of this pattern is that the person saying, doing or tweeting this biased, bigoted, violent rhetoric claims that in fact they are the "victims" because what they're saying had "nothing to do with race" - although it seems to also have nothing to do with anything logical or factual either.
Mr. Gullikan is no except to this pattern as he post the following as his twitter headline.
This isn't about RACE. It's about TREASON. And anyone who makes it about race is treasonous.
Yeah, um, sure. Right.
Here's a newslash for Jeff: Hating someone for not being American (Enough), for being a Democrat, or a Progressive, or a Liberal, or a Centrist-Corporatist (which is what Obama actually is) or for being not the Right Kind of Christian... IS. STILL. BIGOTRY.
Blind General Hatred that ignores the facts and specifics about a single individual - is still Blind General Bigoted Hatred.
They used similar types of attacks against Bill Clinton for being a Democratic President. Sure they didn't pull out nooses, but they did paint him as a "criminal", "sexual deviant", low-life Hillbilly. All of that is every bit is bigoted and racist as what's being said about the current President, because people don't attack you where they think you're strong, they attack you where they think you're vulnerable. It wouldn't have the same impact to put a noose around Bill Clinton or Hillary Clinton's neck - and that's exactly why they don't do that to them.
They do other things which go after them in ways that are more gender and ethnically specific.
The bogus excuse for the attack may not have anything to do with race at least in their mind, but that's only true if their heads are truly as empty as they appear, meanwhile the method of the attack certainly does have racial overtones, even if only so the perpetrator can later "innocently" claim they had no idea those overtones were there and anyone who point them out "is the real racist".
It's a game. It's all a dumb pathetic game.
Unfortunately there are so many people playing this same "you're the racist for thinking I might be a racist when I post pictures of Obama..." (on fire, hanging by his neck, with a devil face, dressed as a pimp, with Watermelon on the White House lawn, with a Hitler-stach, with Joker makeup...etc ad nauseum) that it's making it difficult to even notice when real admitted racists come out and say something dumbass.
Because the KKK and Stormfront sound exactly like these guys do.
Obama Treason in Syria: America Supports Israel, al Qaeda and Radical Islam (in that Order!)
Jun 14, 2013 |
David Duke Commentary — True to his Zionist masters, Obama announced today that America would start sending destructive weapons to the terrorists who are waging war on one of Israel’s biggest enemies: Syria.
To illustrate Obama’s treason, even members of the National Security Agency have admitted that al Qaeda is involved in the war against Syria. So now we are going to send weapons of war that will undoubtedly get into the hands of America’s supposed mortal enemy, al Qaeda, the same terrorist organization blamed by the government for 911.
When the "Obama Traitor" rhetoric coming directly from David Duke is less inflammatory that what you have to say Jeff, maybe it's time to rethink some of your rhetoric and realize that when it walks like a racist duck, quacks like a racist David Duke duck, people have pretty good reason to suspect if might just be a racist duck quacking.
But somehow I doubt Jeff is listening.
