I am a candidate in 3rd Congressional District in Nevada. You may not have heard of me or my campaign yet, but you will. While I may be new to electoral politics, I am not new to the fight of Progressive issues and politics. From working on my first campaign in 2008 to help get President Obama and a Progressive local candidate elected, to issue campaigns that ranged from civil and human rights to school funding initiatives, I have been on the front line fighting for Progressive values.
I am a Bernie Sanders endorser who believes that he is the right person for the job as President of the United States. His vision, accomplishments and dedication to the American people make him the right choice. Bernie Sanders Presidential campaign, like mine, will continue to be powered by grassroots support from small donations that send a message to Washington and the 1%, that the politics of old and the status quo is no longer acceptable. The time has come to return the power back to the American people, not just a handful of millionaires and billionaires.
While my candidacy is not one written out of a political how to book, as I don’t come from great wealth or a famous last name, I am the right candidate with the right vision for my constituents in Nevada. Unlike one of my opponents, Jacky Rosen, this campaign isn’t being funded by SuperPAC’s that support my candidacy because I was handpicked as the establishment choice. Unlike my opponent Jesse Sbaih, this campaign isn’t being funded by my personal wealth to further my career ambitions through self-promotion, that dictate my views and positions on the issues. Instead, this campaign is a grassroots campaign that is and will remain supported and funded by you, everyday Americans who are hungry for lasting and meaningful change.
My positions on the most important issues facing Americans and Las Vegans today are not for political expediency or self-promotion, as is the case with my opponents in this primary. Instead, my positions on the issues are rooted in what Americans need and want so that their lives are a little easier and more successful so that they too can achieve their American Dream.
We need to increase the minimum wage to $15/hr so that never again will a worker work 40+ hours a week and still not be able to afford their rent or put food on the table. I will push a single-payer healthcare bill, Medicare For All, so that we make healthcare a right for every American. We need to address the broken immigration system, not by putting troops on the border or deporting those that are already here. Instead, we need to reform our immigration system by creating a path to citizenship for those that are already here and creating a better process for those around the world that want their shot at the American dream.
We need to protect and advance women’s rights by making sure that any attack on women’s health and choice is thwarted and never made into law. I will work to pass legislation that makes paid maternity leave for new parents a reality. I will continue the fight to make equal pay for equal days work the law and not a suggestion, by giving women even further protections to fight against inequality in the workplace that holds employers accountable.
All of my positions on the issues that Las Vegans and Americans are facing can be found at Singerforcongress.com/...
I hope that you will support my campaign for Congress and join with me in the fight to make our country work again for ALL Americans, rich and poor.
