From 10:20pm Sunday night—after the Democratic debate in Flint, Michigan—until the next day at 3:54pm, the Washington Post published a series of articles putting Bernie Sanders down. Sixteen articles to be exact. Pretty damning bias in coverage. I know there are ambivalent feelings in the Daily Kos community over what kinds of coverage the different Democratic candidates are getting here, but we can all agree it isn’t this:
Bernie Sanders pledges the U.S. won’t be No. 1 in incarceration. He’ll need to release lots of criminals Clinton is running for president. Sanders is doing something else This is huge: Trump, Sanders both using the same catchphrase. Mental health patients to Bernie Sanders: Don’t compare us to the GOP candidates ‘Excuse me, I’m talking’: Bernie Sanders shuts down Hillary Clinton repeatedly Bernie Sanders’ two big lies about the global economy Five reasons Bernie Sanders lost last night’s Democratic debate An awkward reality for Bernie Sanders: A strategy focused on whiter states Bernie Sanders says white people don’t know what it’s like to live in a ‘ghetto.’ About that… The NRA just praised Bernie Sanders — and did him no favors in doing so Even Bernie Sanders can beat Donald Trump What Bernie Sanders still doesn’t get about arguing with Hillary Clinton Why Obama says bank reform is a success but Bernie Sanders says it’s a failure Here’s something Ted Cruz and Bernie Sanders have in common: And the piece of the argument that Bernie doesn’t get quite right. ”Excuse me!” Bernie Sanders doesn’t know how to talk about black people And the most partisan senator of 2015 is … Bernie Sanders!

The footwork of collecting these stories was done by Adam Johnson and posted to his Twitter feed.
I actually gave them too much credit. Washington Post ran 16 negative Sanders stories in 16 hours. pic.twitter.com/4MvkxZIf3n— Adam H. Johnson (@adamjohnsonNYC) March 8, 2016

So, I realize that the comment thread may very well devolve into a pie-throwing contest but let’s all think about the kids! We can all agree, Hillary and Bernie supporters alike, the traditional media’s use of bias is bizarre to see, even if it not surprising.
