It’s almost midnight, and the news of the night is Bernie Sanders’ victory in Michigan, easily the biggest upset of the Democratic primary to date. Sanders currently leads Hillary Clinton 50.0 to 48.0, with 92% reporting. Earlier on, Clinton won Mississippi by an 83-16 margin.
On the GOP side, Donald Trump won both MS and MI, with Ted Cruz in second in both states (and edging John Kasich in the latter). Marco Rubio had just a plain miserable night, finishing fourth in both cases.
Idaho is still tallying results (only the GOP is having a primary there tonight), but Cruz has a sizable 41-29 lead on Trump with 36% reporting. Later on, we’ll hear from the Hawaii GOP caucuses.
