Most political junkies are familiar with the the famous “Daisy” ad from 1964. It only ran once, but its impact was, well, explosive.
But, LBJ ran a take-no-prisoners campaign. I’ve recently come across some other ads the campaign ran. They are brutal. And they have direct relevance to the campaign we will be running against Trump in the fall (regardless of who is our standard bearer).
For example, there is this one on the KKK:
And, this one could be used against both Trump or Cruz:
And, of course, Trump is well-known for speaking out of both sides of his mouth. This one is very effective.
Finally, this one is probably too long for our shortened attention spans nowadays, but there are certainly aspects that could be used in a shorter ad in the fall.
Certainly, these ads from 1964 could serve as a template for Democratic ads come the fall. Let’s hope they utilize it.
What are your thoughts on this as a template for the fall?
