Michelle Fields, the Breitbart reporter who was allegedly roughed up by Donald Trump’s campaign manager, has filed a criminal complaint:
Michelle Fields has filed a police report against Corey Lewandowski, the campaign manager for Donald Trump.
Independent Journal Review has learned from a source familiar with the events that Fields has filed a report with the police department in Jupiter, Florida, which is the jurisdiction where the alleged incident occurred.
Detective Adam Brown of the Jupiter PD confirmed she had filed, and said they would be releasing a statement shortly.
Ben Terris of the Washington Post witnessed the assault:
As security parted the masses to give him passage out of the chandelier-lit ballroom, Michelle Fields, a young reporter for Trump-friendly Breitbart News, pressed forward to ask the Republican front-runner a question. I watched as a man with short-cropped hair and a suit grabbed her arm and yanked her out of the way. He was Corey Lewandowski, Trump’s 41-year-old campaign manager.
Fields stumbled. Finger-shaped bruises formed on her arm.
“I’m just a little spooked,” she said, a tear streaming down her face. “No one has grabbed me like that before.”
Lewandowski denied grabbing Fields. She responded by publicly sharing photos of her bruised arm:
Despite an eyewitness account from a credible source and an audio recording surfacing of the conversation, Donald Trump has publicly stated he thinks Michelle Fields is "making it up."
Video has surfaced on the moments around the arm grab. Incredibly, Breitbart is not backing the account of their own reporter, instead suggesting she misidentified Lewandowski as the man who grabbed her. In my view, the video bolsters the claims of Terris and Fields. Although you cannot see the actual grab, you do catch a glimpse of Fields dipping down, like she’s falling, and you see in the very next frame that Terris and Lewandowski are face-to-face. It seems unlikely both Fields and Terris misidentified the man they’ve been interacting with on the campaign trail with for weeks or months. Watch:
Corey Lewandowski may soon be answering to Florida police.
