Tragedies like Orlando can bring out the best in people, like Connecticut’s Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy and the dozens of Democrats who joined him in a 15-hour talking filibuster to force the Senate to finally do something about the epidemic of gun deaths.
Then there's Republican Senate Whip John Cornyn.
"We're trying to find out ... whether this is an effort to find a solution and common ground or whether this is just an effort to try to embarrass people," the Senate's No. 2 Republican told The Hill Wednesday evening. "I haven't yet concluded which one it is."
Let me help you there, you colossal dick. It's about the dead people. It's about all the dead people. It's about the fact that your party has refused for years to do just one goddamned thing about it. Clearly, Cornyn can embarrass himself without any help from Democrats.
