North Carolina House Republican Mark Walker does not approve of the Democratic sit-in to force House action on gun violence, so he took to Twitter to chastise civil rights icon Rep. John Lewis for doing it wrong.
Oooooh. Rep. Walker appears to be unaware that former Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee chairman John Lewis, Freedom Rider, man who spoke alongside Martin Luther King Jr. on the day King gave his I Have a Dream speech, man whose skull was fractured by police beatings on Bloody Sunday, may know a little something about what the civil rights sit-ins were about.
With any luck, Rep. Walker will have more opportunities to explain proper sit-in etiquette to John Lewis. Now that would be some quality television.
