He's all integrity, that Marco Rubio. From declaring during his run for the presidency that the U.S. Senate was a colossal waste of his time and he'd never go back, to deciding literally hours after the massacre at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando and literally at the site of that horror that he could use the event to try to get that job he hated back. Rubio is a soulless hack. If you need more proof, take his support of Donald Trump.
In the final weeks of his 2016 presidential run, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) threw every insult in the book at Donald Trump, calling him a litigious, “orange” “con man.” The Florida senator said Monday that he will not retract those comments, even though he is now supporting Trump’s campaign.
“I’ve stood by everything I ever said in my campaign,” Rubio told the Miami Herald editorial board in a meeting when asked about the "con man" remark. […]
“We’re in a different place now. Now we have a binary choice — not a choice between 15 people or 12 people,” he told the Herald staff. “There are two people in the world that are going to be the next president, either Donald or Hillary. In our republic, while the presidency is powerful, there is a balance of power in this country, and a significant amount of it resides in the United States Senate. It’s one of the reasons why I seek to run again.”
Yeah, right. Just like his fellow bullshit artist Kelly Ayotte. He'll stand up to Trump when he's in the Senate again, that job that he takes so seriously that he's the most absentee lawmaker in this Congress.
And just how is he standing up to Trump now? By campaigning with his running mate! Maybe he's actually looking for Trump coattails in Florida. After all, he lost his own home state to Trump in the primary. In a landslide. Or maybe the always strategizing Rubio is running for third again. Maybe he thinks the party will force Trump off the ticket, Mike Pence will step up and reward Little Marco with the newly opened VP slot. Implausible? This is Rubio we're talking about.
