for their tweet and story on the Clinton Foundation.
Most people do not know how much good the Clinton Global Initiative does.
Because it was not part of her official role as Secretary of State, Hillary and her campaign have not really talked about it.
Until now.
Now they have the real opportunity to tell people about it.
Oh, and now they have the real opportunity to push back on the double standard in the media. Where no one in the pundit class except those already in thrall to Trump or demonstrating their Clinton Derangement Syndrome is alleging that there is even a hint of wrong-doing, even as they bloviate about appearances (and yes I am talking about both you Chuck Todd and you Chris Cillizza and if you want to argue with me about it I will see you at the Harrison St. Starbucks).
If I may quote a highly respected centrist on politics,
But in fact I am far more interested in the contrasts that can be made.
I am far more interested in being able to inform the American people that the Clintons have used their connections to benefit people all over the world.
And I would just LOVE for Donald Trump to bring this up in a debate — because Hillary will be totally ready to dismantle him, the guy who does not even make the charitable contributions he says he is going to make.
Yes, there has been a bit of a media circus since the AP tweeted the story. Anyone who reads the entire story will see how misleading and dishonest that tweet was. The punditry should be embarrassed for not going into the facts more deeply.
It is time for the lemonade — Clinton now has an excuse to brag about the good work the CGI does.
And how much she and Bill give to charity (where are your tax returns, Donald? How about just your schedule A, showing charitable contributions? And if you did any, what were they besides free rounds of golf?)
Methinks many in the media misread how the American people will respond to this the same way they misread the rise of Trump.
Make of my thoughts what you will.
