Hillary exploded today. As a new Iowa poll released today shows her trailing Bernie Sanders 51-43, she attacked him with charges ranging from silly to illogical.
"I just don't understand what that means. He's been in Congress, he's been elected to office a lot longer than I have," Clinton said.
This is a point I make to my significant other every time the media lauds her experience. Bernie actually has MORE experience than Secretary Clinton. For all her foreign policy experience, she actually has failed in her judgment on the most poignant decision of our times: The Iraq War.
It seems illogical to hammer the people of Iowa again and again that you are the more experienced candidate and then claim that your major opponent has more experience!
Here is a doozy:
"I think it would be a mistake to offer normalized relations," Clinton said, saying her commitment to the Iran nuclear deal is strong. "I engaged in long, patient diplomacy to put together the sanctions on Iran that finally brought them to the negotiation table and actually began the preliminary negotiations that the President and Secretary (John) Kerry continued to completion."
Taking credit for the hard work John Kerry has done to actually make the world a safer place…does anyone remember this from the 2008 primaries?
But in 2007, Clinton lambasted Obama for his diplomatic stance. When Obama said he would be prepared to meet without precondition with leaders of rogue nations, including Iran, in the first year of his presidency, Clinton told the Quad City Times: "I thought that was irresponsible and frankly naïve."
In 2008, Clinton used hawkish language when asked in an interview what she would do if Iran attacked Israel.
"I want the Iranians to know that if I'm the president, we will attack Iran," Clinton said. "In the next 10 years, during which they might foolishly consider launching an attack on Israel, we would be able to totally obliterate them."
For her to praise the Obama administration for Iran is appropriate but even now the Hawkish Clinton is attempting to paint her primary opponent as being soft on Iran.
Frankly, I am tired of these Neo-Conservative war hawks as it is clear their ideology is wrong and dangerous for our country. In an effort to smear her opponent, Mrs. Clinton is showing her true hawkish colors.
"I think, obviously, I would be the better choice. I think I am prepared to be both president and commander in chief," she said. "You have to have both the experience and the judgment." — Hillary Clinton
Clearly, Madam Secretary, you have neither the superior experience nor the judgment of Bernie Sanders who voted again the AUMF, the Patriot Act, and has served in congress for 25+ years with unwavering commitment to the poor and middle class.
