Contrasting two ground games, Bernie Sanders on CNN’s State of the Union today:
We have come a long, long way and the reason for that is that we have 15,000 volunteers who today are going to be knocking on doors. Who are going to be making telephone calls. They are going to be urging people to come out and vote.
And the Clinton campaign:
The Clinton campaign has 4,200 precinct captains and other precinct leaders prepared for Monday night and has seen their volunteer numbers swell in the closing days. On Friday, according to aides, 2,000 volunteer shifts were completed across Iowa, a number that was nearly doubled on Saturday.
And by Sunday, according to aides, campaign volunteers will have knocked on 125,000 doors this weekend alone.
Young people are coming out for Bernie and if they show up tomorrow at the Caucus we will witness the greatest political upset in U.S. history.
Update: Thanks for putting this up on the Rec’ List folks! I had to step out right after and didn’t see it until just now. Reading the comments, I can feel the God’s-honest excitement that is growing with the Bernie crowd. I guess it all comes down to this:
IF Bernie sanders can get 1 million individual donations in a month AND clear out 22 million dollars in campaign contributions from ordinary people like you and me IN JANUARY, If he gets the national support of those people FOR THE LONG HAUL, what does that do to his opponent’s argument that he is “unelectable”?
or in other words. .
Bernie Sanders: “What this campaign is about is a political revolution.”
The Establishment: “Oh yeah? You and what army?”
