Last week, President Obama announced he would be taking executive action on guns laws in 2016. In his weekly address, on New Years Day, the president released a video where he discussed more about his plans:
“As he has many times before, the President reminded us that Congress has repeatedly failed to take action and pass laws that would reduce gun violence. That’s why the President a few months ago tasked his White House team with identifying new actions he can take to help reduce gun violence, and on Monday will meet with the Attorney General to discuss the options. In his address, the President called on everyone to join him in the fight to reduce gun violence, because it’s going to take all of us to make America safer for our children.”
On the same day of the president’s weekly address, Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott provoked the president with in a tweet, writing:
“Obama wants to impose more gun control. My response? COME & TAKE IT.”
And there it is—so predictable and so pathetic. President Obama, once again, sets out to make the people of this country safer by taking action against gun violence, and a grown man and lawmaker, acts like a spoiled redneck brat, disrespects the President of the United States, and falsely alludes that Obama wants to take everyone’s gun away. Behavior like this is not only despicable, it provokes unstable gun extremists, resulting in mass shootings which now often occur weekly in America. It’s horrific, and lawmakers like Abbot, the Republican-run U.S. Congress and the NRA will continue to have blood on their hands for the thousands of senseless deaths that continue to occur every day.
Governor Abbott, you’re the epitome of your party’s hatred, spitefulness, immaturity and apathy for the welfare of the American people. By the way, Governor, how much is the NRA paying you?

Based on his support of and commitment to the Second Amendment, Abbott has earned an “A” rating from the NRA-PVF in the 2014 general election. An “A” rating is reserved for a pro-gun elected official who has consistently supported the NRA’s position on issues of importance to gun owners and sportsmen.
There you go. Special thanks to Alan.com
