OK, I really didn’t watch the debate this time. Not even on Twitter.
I was thinking of watching the debate. I even turned it on for a minute or two.
But then I remembered that I had to go to the store to get a pineapple. And when I came back, that movie about Whitey Bulger was on, and that seemed so much more intriguing than watching Mike Pence say anything, even if it was Trump-level crazy.
The good news is that it’s Wednesday, and that means at least two astute debate watchers will be on the show: Joan McCarter and Greg Dworkin. As usual, we’ll be relying on them to know what happened. But I think they like watching debates. And I like pineapple. So it sort of works out in the end, even though they don’t get any pineapple out of it.
I guess I mean it works out for me. I don’t know. Look, maybe they don’t even like pineapple.
The real point is, you should listen to the show. And as a GOTV warm-up, you should each get two other people to listen, too.

Yesterday David Waldman was out Rosh Hashanah-Na-ing; today he discovers his new 5777 novelty glasses are really hard to see through. Greg Dworkin promised us an avalanche of post-debate polling, today he delivers. You will hear “Hillary Leads” so often your head will spin, believe me. As a matter of fact, Hillary has always led. But... what about Ohio? As the Clinton electorate flees the rustbelt, leaving deploration in its wake, the electoral map shuffles. The service industry expands as manufacturing shrinks, but politicians lag. Young voters have always wanted the third choice. Vanity Fair looks back at 30 years of observing Trump being Trump. Donald Trump cheated on his taxes at Every. Possible. Level. This guy knows, because he has seen Trump’s tax returns. Donald Trump used Trump Foundation funds for his presidential run. The Trump Foundation was used for just about any bill. David looks into the big money to be had when the crazies get to fleece the insane.
