Samantha Bee was back this week, swinging for the fences as usual. She decided to send out some of the Full Frontal with Samantha Bee “correspondents” to talk with Trump supporters about how they believe the election is rigged. In order to have a fantastically hilarious time with Trump supporters, all one must do is point out logic flaws and watch Trump supporters’ bigoted and paranoid wheels spin.
Bee begins the statement with a pretty hardcore analysis of Trump’s attempts at talking about people of color, while pretending he’s worried about voting fraud. After showing a bunch of clips with Trump inferring that there is a lot of voter fraud going on, and that “we all know” where this fraud is going on, Samantha Bee pounces.
I think you get the subtext here, Trump and his supporters are absolutely terrified of “riggers.”
In the debate, Trump said he would accept the results of the election and graciously not pursue a coup-de-tat. But that promise, like Trump’s wedding vows, lasted about four days.
They throw to more recent rallies and interviews where Trump, even more clearly, race baits and calls for his supporters to police “other” voting districts. It ends with Trump saying “because you know what I’m talking about.”
He’s talking about areas historically teeming with “riggers.”
The Full Frontal team sent out Allana Harkin and Amy Hoggart to speak with Trump supporters convinced that the election is rigged and the media is helping to rig it. These two correspondents are fantastic as they get Trump supporters to explain how the election is rigged but how Donald Trump will win the election.
Allana Harkin: So you’re saying that Trump is going to win?
Trump Supporter: Yeah he’s going to win. by a landslide.
Harkin: But you just said the election’s going to be rigged.
Supporter: Not in his favor.
Harkin: So you’re saying that it’s rigged if Hillary wins but not if Trump wins.
Supporter: Exactly.
Harkin: Isn’t that like saying that any woman who didn’t want to date you was a lesbian?
Supporter: Exactly.
They tackle “poll watchers” and they hit their warped sense of how the media has handled Clinton’s emails and Benghazi. It’s fantastic and I hope these two correspondents get to do more.
