The list of high-profile Republicans still supporting Donald Trump keeps getting shorter, but he still has his followers, including Missouri Sen. Roy Blunt, currently locked in a close race with Jason Kander.
“I am glad to see that he understands more about the country now than he believes he did when this process started,” Blunt said, referring to a comment Trump made in his apology for the remarks. “I think if you want to solve the problems that have been created over the last eight years, you can’t have a third Obama administration. So he needs to be vigorous in explaining how he is a different man than that person, but how he hopes to lead the country and I think he may very well get that done.”
Roy Blunt apparently makes one person who buys Trump’s whole video “apology” claim that “I've traveled the country talking about change for America but my travels have also changed me. [...] I have gotten to know the great people of our country and I've been humbled by the faith they've placed in me.” The rest of us realize that, under fire a month before the election, Trump was just trying to transition from brief contrition to attack mode without making it too obvious.
One reason for this Blunt’s continuing fealty to Trump that, as much as Republican lawmakers eyeing the general election may know they need to step back from Trump, he’s their party’s nominee for a reason:

The Kander campaign has released a statement from Jason:
My mom asked me how we could have a President that she would have to mute the TV when she's with my son so he doesn't learn offensive words. Families across the country are probably thinking the same thing today. Donald Trump is unfit to be President.
