You can say one thing for Donald Trump: he's making fellow Republicans show their true nature. Their horrible, morally bankrupt nature. Here's just one example—a Republican National Committee spokesman who, like the party's standard-bearer, seems to be a congenital liar.
In the spin room following Sunday night's debate, a Weekly Standard reporter asked Sean Spicer, "if you grab a woman by the genitals" is that sexual assault? Spicer gave a perfectly Republican response: "I don't know. I'm not a lawyer." That's bad enough, but it's not actually the worst part. The Washington Post followed up with Spicer to ask about it, and this happened.
Update: Spicer disputed that quote, telling The Post, "I never said it." But McCormack provided The Post with an audio recording of a man who clearly sounds like Spicer, in the spin room, speaking those exact words.
Spicer responds: "While I was asked question about a matter of law, it is never appropriate to touch anyone in an unwelcome manner." [italics in original]
"I never said it." How perfectly Trumpian. But he just doesn't have the delusion, or pathology, or who the hell knows what it is that allows Trump to continue to deny the things that come out of his mouth even in the face of recorded evidence. No, Spicer's a piker, a loser, weak. When confronted with facts, he caves. Clearly, he doesn't have much of a future in Trump's Republican party.
Just for the record, yeah it's sexual assault and any decent person would know that.
