The Missouri Democratic Party wins the coveted press release of the day award with this headline:
Notable Georgetown resident and U.S. Senator spotted fundraising at home instead of campaigning in Missouri
That would be Roy Blunt, at the George Hotel, on Monday. The press release continues to get in the digs—and make some good points about who Roy Blunt is and why he’s not campaigning in his supposed home state in the final weeks of the election:
Even as questions swirl around his actual residency and his lobbyist ties, Senator Blunt was spotted yesterday entering the George Hotel in Washington, D.C. for a fundraiser with beltway lobbyists, according to Politico’s Morning Score. Senator Blunt does have fundraising ground to make up after getting handily outraised by Jason Kander in the third quarter, but with the polls neck and neck, it’s unclear if spending even more time in lobbyist fundraisers three weeks from Election Day when all of his colleagues are in their home states is a great strategy.
Kander is getting a boost from Hillary Clinton’s campaign investing in Missouri, but he still needs all the help he can get in defeating Blunt.
Can you chip in $3 to help elect Jason Kander?
