I am in my 70s.
I have always loved this country.
I have always believed this country was good, and loving, and inclusive, and compassionate; that it believed in equal opportunity for all; that it stood for something — not facism, bigotry, racism, hatred, misogyny — something of value.
For the first time, I am ashamed to be an American.
For the first time, I am looking to see what country I might be able to move to where I might live on almost no money (because Trump and the GOP will dissolve Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and Obamacare — and that’s just the first day) and where they won’t hold it against me because my once-beloved once-sane country, a democracy once, committed suicide.
At this point, even if Hillary can hold on and squeak out a win, it doesn’t matter. The fascists and fools have won! They have taken over what was once a beacon of democracy, of representative govt, of opportunity for everyone. The Haters have won. The anarchists and arsonists have won. I am forced to face the fact that a big-enough majority of Americans are truly clinically definitionally stupid!
I am devastated! This is NOT what I expected of America in the 21st century!
