Received this e-mail today from Secretary of State Jason Kander’s (D. MO) U.S. Senate campaign:
Currently, extremists in the Senate are saying that they will refuse to even consider a Supreme Court nominee, no matter how qualified, until after the 2016 election in an attempt to sway the court in their favor.
The Constitution requires the president to nominate Supreme Court Justices, so any Senator saying otherwise clearly hasn’t read it. This political pandering is another reason why Missourians are so fed up with Washington.
Click here to sign our petition to tell Senator Roy Blunt and other politicians in Washington to stop the dysfunction and vote on a confirmation.
If Senator Blunt thinks the nominee eventually chosen by the President isn’t qualified, he can vote no. But to not have the political courage to even take a vote shows a complete inability to do his job.
Thanks,
Jason
