8) TRUMP DUMP via Thom Hartmann
Just days before the Nevada Caucus, Donald Trump lost a lawsuit in Las Vegas, giving his employees the right to unionize. The NLRB sided with the workers, granting them the right to lobby for better pay and working conditions. One employee said,
"He says he wants to make America great. Well, he should start here, in his own house. He always brags about how he has millions and millions and millions of dollars, But he pays his workers less than most in Las Vegas."

More bad news for Trump. Not only did he lose the Las Vegas lawsuit which will be giving his workers the right to unionize, he also lost the appeal regarding Trump University. The lawsuit seeking damages for the $40 million that students have claimed to have lost, has been deemed worthwhile enough to proceed.

9) In Bernie News Bernie Sanders held a rally in Portland today. John Fishman, drummer for Vermont Jam Band Phish, was in attendance. Sanders told the crowd, "John and Phish have made New England proud. They are one of the great bands, have been one of the great bands in this country, so John, we thank you very much."
Phish got their start in Burlington 3 decades ago, and Fishman says he's been following Bernie's career since Bernie's days as mayor of Burlington.
Bernie will get 100% of his home state, Vermont's Delegates, as Hillary did not meet their 15% threshold requirement. In Massachusetts, Hillary beat Bernie 51-49, so the delegates there will be very close to evenly split.
"Most of the states that Secretary Clinton won had low voter turnouts. Most of the states that Bernie won had high voter turnouts. We know, when we have a high voter turnout, Bernie does better, because the more people that participate in the process, the more his ideas are carried out.
Most of the states [which Hillary won on Super Tuesday] are Red States and are not likely to carry the day in the General Election. Most of the states that Bernie has won are Blue States or Battleground States. And he's won them handily!" ~ Jane Sanders
A New CNN Poll has Hillary Clinton beating Donald Trump 52-44; but loses to Rubio 50-47 and to Cruz 49-48
In the same poll Bernie Sanders trounces all of them: He beats Donald Trump 55-43; Rubio 53-45 and Cruz 57-40.
On Super Tuesday Bernie won the Latino vote in Colorado and Texas. In Massachusetts, Bernie won among white people who earn less than $100,000/yr.
The actual total of Delegates stands at Hillary ~ 586; Bernie ~ 376. For some reason, CSPAN is the only station that is giving the ACTUAL Delegate total. All the other Cable News stations are including the Super Delegates in Hillary's total, but those votes haven't yet been cast, they've just been "promised". The Super Delegates can change their minds at any time, and if Bernie wins the popular vote in a landslide in many states, the Super Delegates are expected to switch their vote to the candidate favored by the Primary Voters.
There is a worry this election, though, that Bernie could win the popular vote, but still be denied the Democratic nomination by the party elite, because of the corrupt and questionable nature of allowing Super Delegates to cast the deciding votes, regardless of the Primary Voters' wishes. A scenario like this hasn't happened yet, but this election cycle has been nothing, if not full of surprises. How do Super Delegates fit in with the treasured American concept of "Democratically Elected by We, the People", I wonder?

10) The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will soon be opening at Universal Studios. Unfortunately they've had an unusual amount of riders throwing up at the "soft openings", for friends and family of the crew.
Apparently the main attraction differs from the Orlando ride, in that it is a live action, special kind of roller coaster with a hidden robotic claw inside, so you're not actually moving through space that much like a regular roller coaster. And it's disguised. There are some live action elements, there are some pre-recorded elements from when the cast was much younger. And this version involves 3-D goggles. So with all the twisting and turning, plus 3D, it's easy to understand why some riders are losing their lunches.

11) It takes 60,000 bees to make one pound of honey.
There is a new product on the market called "Bee Free Honey", made from Organic Apples! Apparently, it "tastes just like honey", and behaves like it, too. The woman who invented it, Katie Sanchez, made it by mistake. She was trying to make Apple Jelly! She and her partner Melissa Elms, have been marketing their product for about two years in a few regions with Whole Foods.
If you take more than 20% of the honey out of a beehive, it is at risk of collapse. The Bee Free Honey could take some of the pressure off the endangered bees.
Plus, vegans have been arguing about honey for years, and this product is a bee-free solution. No bees are harmed in the making of this product!
Katie and Melissa brought their product on Shark Tank recently, and the sharks got very excited. Three of them decided to go in, offering double what the women had asked for, and you should be seeing Bee Free Honey on the shelves of a store near you soon.

The UK government has been told to take action on air pollution or face a legal challenge. ClientEarth has sent a final warning letter to environment secretary, Liz Truss, giving her 10 days to act on dirty air or face action in the high court.

Just in time for tourist season, both of Florida's coasts are being flooded by dark, polluted water that's killing ocean creatures and turning away would-be swimmers, fishermen, and other visitors.
Last month was South Florida's wettest January since 1932. Because of the heavy rain, the water levels in Lake Okeechobee in central Florida rose to about a foot above what's normal for this season. On top of that, water managers began to pump dirty water from flooded farms into the lake, adding more pollution to a body of water that already contains fertilizers and other chemicals from the state's cattle and sugar industries.
At the same time, officials began to worry that the rising lake waters would put stress on its aging dike, so they decided to drain the lake toward the east and west coasts. Some 70,000 gallons per second flowed into the St. Lucie River and the Caloosahatchee River all the way through to the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean. And as the toxic runoff spreads, it's threatening sea grasses and oyster beds and adding to harmful algae growth.
Now the tourism industry and small businesses on the coasts are worried they're going to see their business slump as a result of the pollution. Local politicians are calling on Gov. Rick Scott to declare a state of emergency, and mayors are traveling to Washington, DC, to demand action from Congress and the Army Corps of Engineers. And Floridians are snapping pictures of the polluted water and dead sea creatures and sharing them on social media.
According to David Guest, managing attorney of the Florida branch of the environmental law group Earthjustice, the pollution is not going to end anytime soon. He blames lax regulations, not the unseasonable rain, for the current crisis. "The lake is basically a toilet," Guest says. Florida's powerful sugar industry has stood in the way of the state purchasing land south of the lake that could be used to build a waterway to direct dirty water to the Everglades, cleansing it along the way.
According to John H. Campbell, a spokesman for the US Army Corps of Engineers, state and federal officials are unable to divert the polluted water south to the Everglades at the moment. The marshes between the lake and the Everglades are too flooded, and it could be a matter of weeks or even months before the water levels come down. In the meantime, the polluted water will keep being diverted to the coasts, where Florida's tourism industry lies. 'We really don't have any other options,' Campbell says. 'That's all we can do.'" * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Do you enjoy reading The Daily TILT?
