Received this e-mail today from Lexington Mayor Jim Gray’s (D. KY) U.S. Senate campaign:
There’s been an uproar over Donald Trump’s racist comments about a Mexican-American judge -- and rightfully so.
Even top Republicans like Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan have disowned the comments.
But Senator Paul is MIA. In fact, he’s spent the week dodging questions from reporters. Why won’t he take a stand?
Will you sign Jim’s petition calling on Senator Paul to disavow Donald Trump’s racist comments?
Senator Paul has had plenty of opportunities to tell Kentucky voters where he stands -- but thus far he’s declined.
Slate reports: “Rand Paul of Kentucky […] ducked the question.”
And Politico writes: “Sen. Rand Paul declined to comment on Trump.”
Jim’s position is much clearer: “I’ve said it many times, there’s no place for racism or discrimination. It’s wrong, period.” Now that’s leadership.
Tell Senator Paul to take a stand and disavow Donald Trump’s racist comments.
Thank you,
Team Gray
