Unless you have been living under a rock in the last few days, you must have heard that millions of people in UK have signed petition for a second BREXIT referendum, a do over so to speak.
Social media is full of people claiming that they voted to leave EU as a protest votes. As if that is not bad enough, many who voted to leave EU went on Google to learn what EU is all about after casting their votes. To them, I say election have consequences.
As at today, UK currency has lost a lot of its value. Moody’s rating agency has downgraded UK’s credit outlook from stable to negative. Scotland is considering another independence referendum, while historic Northern Ireland peace accord is now in a serious jeopardy.
Below is from Sky News:
Ratings agency Moody's has changed the UK's sovereign rating from "stable" to "negative" due to the uncertainty unleashed by the result of the EU referendum.
Rival ratings agency Standard & Poor's said before Thursday's referendum that Britain stood to lose its AAA credit rating, and Fitch Ratings said on Friday that the vote would be "moderately negative".
Senator Sanders has stated publicly that he will vote for Secretary Clinton in November. However, some of his supporters continue show desire to cast protest votes this November. Some plan to write-in Senator Sanders name, some plan to stay at home while some indicated desire to vote for Donald Trump or other third party candidates. Let no one be in doubt, anyone not voting for Secretary Clinton in November is helping Donald Trump.
With Supreme Court and many progressive achievements on the line, this is not the time for protest votes of any kind. Especially now that Secretary Clinton has been gracious enough to incorporate many of Senator Sanders issues into the Democratic Party platform.
By the way, it is grossly unfair to lose an election and then demand which of your issues the winner must adopt. If Senator Sanders had won the primary fight, he is unlikely to grant any such concessions. Big kudos to Secretary Clinton.
We have a very good opportunity this November to retain the Presidency and take over the Congress, let us not blow it. Majority of us cannot afford 4 years of Donald Trump. Election indeed have consequences.
