There is doing the good deed of calling U.S. Congress members to voice concerns—and then there is going the extra step and videotaping your calls. One woman named “Heather Calling” has decided to do both as she tries to get answers on why Republican lawmakers are doing nothing to stop the epidemic of gun deaths in America. You can subscribe to this awesome woman’s YouTube channel here.
In this first video, Heather places a call to the office of Senator Mitch McConnell and asks:
“How much does he cost? How much does Mitch McConnell cost?”
She was referring to McConnell’s lack of action regarding commonsense gun laws and taking contributions from the National Rifle Association/NRA. The receptionist in McConnell’s office is stumped. Heather then says:
“I know that he’s for sale. I mean, you can get him to either introduce legislation or not introduce legislation based on whether or not you’ve given him money. So what does an ordinary citizen, like is there a special rate that an ordinary citizen can pay to get him to introduce legislation or vote a certain way?”
When the woman on the other end of the line finally understands what Heather is doing, chides Heather for her “sarcasm” and realizes she has no answers, she hangs up. Here is the video:
Senator McConnell can be reached at (202) 224-2541
In another YouTube video, Heather makes a call to Rep. Trey Gowdy and asks about the $7 million in taxes and the 66,00 people who’ve died in gun violence during the time he’s been investigating Hillary Clinton and Benghazi. Heather asks, “Was that worth it? Is he happy?” CLICK.
After each video, Heather leaves a number for citizens to call both McConnell and Gowdy.
Rep. Trey Gowdy can be reached at (202) 225-6030
Touché, Heather Calling, and thank you. More, please.
