House Speaker Paul Ryan publicly declared last month that there would not be a "deportation force" going after undocumented immigrants and their families in the Trump regime. He also said "Everybody thinks that there's some deportation force that's being assembled. That's not happening; that's not true. [...] And I'm here to tell you, in Congress, that's not happening."
Paul Ryan, meet Donald Trump. The AP has obtained an 11-page draft memo from the administration
proposing a deportation force of as many as 100,000 national guard troops.
The 11-page document calls for the unprecedented militarization of immigration enforcement as far north as Portland, Oregon, and as far east as New Orleans, Louisiana.
Four states that border on Mexico are included in the proposal—California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas—but it also encompasses seven states contiguous to those four—Oregon, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana.
Governors of those states would have the choice of whether or not their guard troops participate. Note that this is just a draft memo thus far, and it’s leaking might be a trial balloon, but that fact that it exists even in draft is appalling, and it adds to the fear and uncertainty already roiling communities. It also gives more ammunition to nativists to attack immigrant communities.
Mr. Ryan, consider yourself, and Congress, on notice here.

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer denies the intent. It would be nice if he had any credibility whatsoever any more. This could be the regime creating an 11-page memo to troll the AP, creating fake news for the media to report so they can continue to complain about fake news.

Here’s the full story from the AP. Note that they requested comment from both the WH and DHS before running the story. The denial didn’t come until after it ran. The memo absolutely exists, and it absolutely should be considered an effort by the administration to further intimidate immigrant families and to cause more fear and more chaos. Whatever else this is about, it’s about their white nationalist tendencies.
