During an interview with Tucker Carlson on Fox News last night, Carlson asked Trump about his allegations that President Obama wiretapped Donald Trump and/or Trump Tower and Trump responded thusly:
TRUMP: Because I don't want to do anything that's going to violate any strength of an agency. We have enough problems.
And by the way, with the CIA, I just want people to know, the CIA was hacked, and a lot of things taken -- that was during the Obama years. That was not during us. That was during the Obama situation. Mike Pompeo is there now doing a fantastic job.
But, we will be submitting certain things and I will be perhaps speaking about this next week, but it's right now before the committee, and I think I want to leave it. I have a lot of confidence in the committee.
Emphasis added. Rep. Adam Schiff, a ranking member on the House Intelligence Committee, believes Donald Trump appears to have revealed highly classified intelligence information during the interview.
NBC News’s Bradd Jaffy reports the CIA hack information has never been confirmed by any government officials. Can you imagine if President Barack Obama or President Hillary Clinton had revealed top secret information during a television interview? What do you think the reaction from Republicans would be? That’s right. There would already be 15 committee investigations. But, we live in a brave new world where Nazi sympathizers hold key White House positions, we have to cut the Meals on Wheels food delivery service for the elderly and disabled so we have enough money in the budget to build the wall Mexico was supposed to pay for and the President of the United States can go around blabbing classified information on Fox News. Winning.
