Why would a reality-based reelection-based person drastically cut the diplomatic force of the State Dept, in order boost the armaments of Homeland Security and Defense? Sounds like a sure fire way to ‘stumble’ into a major war — instead of avoid them.
—
In addition to those Draconian cuts, there are some Agencies on the Trump chopping-block, facing 100% cuts in their Budgets — over 20 of them in fact:
The proposal would also eliminate funding for nearly 20 smaller independent agencies, including the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and the Legal Services Corporation, which finances legal aid groups.

….
Who needs Legal Aid, Public Broadcasting, a well-funded Education Dept, Health and Human Services, or a science-based EPA?
American citizens certainly DON’T — according to Trump’s “real” Priorities, expressed in his 2018 Budget.
We’re paying for this People — Trump is just juggling the Menu of Services, that we must all learn to expect accept as a Society.
I for one, am NOT Okay with it. This is the exact opposite of “Progress” …
What’s next on the GOP-chopping list? Medicaid, Medicare … and ultimately Social Security?
Inquiring minds should want to know … SHOULD start Asking!
