For some godforsaken reason, Fox News host Bill O’Reilly was allowed to write and publish a book for kids. In the aforementioned book titled The O'Reilly Factor for Kids: A Survival Guide, O’Reilly has a whole chapter about S-E-X. Interestingly, he doesn’t tell teenagers to not have sex — he asks them to look for love before seeking gratification.
<sarcasm> I’m sure he does the same for himself. </sarcasm>
He segues into the topic of dehumanization, telling teenagers to go more than skin deep when looking for someone to date. Then he drops a little weird advice to girls saying don’t get used by boys
Girls, some guys will tell you anything to get that sex thing going. Then, after it’s done, they will brutally drop you. Don’t let that happen. Make your boyfriends prove themselves over time. And don’t ever allow yourself to get drunk or stoned to have sex. That’s how most girls get pregnant.
OH MY GOD.
...why doesn’t he tell boys to not treat women like shit? Kind of hard to control how someone treats you (yes, you can cut someone out of your life after they treated you badly — but human beings literally cannot spend their entire existence on earth completely absent of a situation where they weren’t done wrong by another person). This paragraph is so short, yet it has 50 (million) shades of fucked. up.
Anyway, the real kicker here is when he turns to the boys to give them some advice (emphasis mine):
And guys, if you exploit a girl, it will come back to get you. That’s called “karma.” And don’t allow yourself to be exploited by a troubled partner who wants to brag about her sex life to her friends, either. Believe me, you will come out a loser in that scenario.
HA! I wonder if he secretly knew his serial sexual harassment problem would eventually come to bite in him the ass?
See it for yourself:
And if you don’t believe me, you can literally go to page 75 (or search for the word “karma”) here with Amazon's "Look inside" feature.
