People have started to notice the raised fist Trump now uses and may think it’s just some innocuous gesture, maybe a demonstration of strength.
Those familiar with Neuro Linguistic Programming, (NLP) may see something else. He may be using a technique known as ‘anchoring’. Anchoring is way to short cut to the brain of a person or group to elicit a desired response. An external event like a gesture is introduced at a moment where emotional arousal is high, say at a public event and people are amped up. It is then repeated during similar circumstance until the stimulus, in this case a fist gesture, becomes associated with a particular aroused emotional state in the subject. At some point, the gesture alone is all that is needed to recreate that state. This is a form of mind control and manipulation. By the way his phrase, “make America great again” is also a anchor, this time in the form of a phrase.
Trump also uses a technique called Gaslighting which you are starting to hear more about. Especially after this weekend when Trump and his staff brazenly used made up “alternative facts”.
All of this is some pretty nefarious shit, and would sound like conspiracy theory, crackpot stuff if it were not for the fact that he has people like White Nationalist Steve Bannon around him who are probably well versed in Nazi Germany’s effective use of mind control techniques on that population. If you are thinking that the Nazi Sieg Heil victory salute was more than just a salute, you are getting my point. Knowing about this helpful, and anyone is susceptible to some degree. Trump has some mastery of using these tools. After all, he is sitting in the White House. The devotion of his followers is almost cult like.
This seems to be a new phenomenon which suggests someone told him to do it. Watch to see if he continues to use this gesture, if so then you can safely assume that this is why.
Anchoring
Anchoring refers to the process of associating an internal response with some external or internal trigger so that the response may be quickly, and sometimes covertly, re-accessed.
Anchoring is reminiscent of Pavlov's experiments with dogs. Pavlov sounded a bell as the animal was given food. The animals salivated when they saw the food. After some parings of the bell and the food, the bell alone elicited salivation.
Anchors are stimuli that call forth states of mind - thoughts and emotions. For example, touching a knuckle of the left hand could be an anchor. Some anchors are involuntary. So the smell of bread may take you back to your childhood. A tune may remind you of a certain person. A touch can bring back memories and the past states. These anchors work automatically and you may not be aware of the triggers.
Establishing an anchor means producing the stimuli (the anchor) when the resourceful state is experienced so that the resourceful state is pared to the anchor.
Activating or firing the anchor means producing the anchor after it has been conditioned so that the resource reacts to the stimuli
