Donald Trump is ready to sign his “extreme vetting” plan that would ban immigration from Muslim countries.
“It’s countries that have tremendous terror,” Trump said in an interview with David Muir of ABC News that aired Wednesday night. “It’s countries that people are going to come in and cause us tremendous problems.”
And yet Trump’s ban is curiously spotty. Not only does Trump’s list of tremendous terror countries not include a single nation that was home to one of the 9/11 hijackers, there’s another special feature.
His proposed list doesn’t include Muslim-majority countries where his Trump Organization has done business or pursued potential deals.
Which is, of course, completely coincidental. After all, the president can't have a conflict of interest. Still, the best way to save thousands of at-risk refugees might be to persuade Trump of the absolutely sad, lack of world-class golf in Damascus.
