Just heard Sebastian Lukacs von Gorka (no heel-clicking, please), Deputy Assistant to President Baby-Man, being interviewed on NPR – an exercise on NPR’s part that was long on facilitation and short on examination.
Among the alternative facts Gorka proudly brayed was the fast-aging howler that President Baby-Man’s nonsensical EO banning certain groups of immigrants was, in fact, nothing more than a face-lift of a “similar ban” by President Barack Obama in 2011.
You can lead a CON to logic, but you can’t make him think: In fact – actual fact, not the fantasy-facts of the screech-right – any resemblance between the intent, focus, preparation, and implementation of the Obama order and the Baby-Man faux pas is so superficial that it should fool only the easily fooled. Would that describe you, Sebastian Lukacs von Gorka (no heel-clicking, please)?
The facts are easy to find. Do a google-search for “Obama travel ban 2011”, or look for the Foreign Policy article “Sorry, Mr. President: The Obama Administration Did Nothing Similar to Your Immigration Ban” ( foreignpolicy.com/... ).
It is troubling that the NPR interviewer showed no sign of similar research to prep for the aromatic Mr. Gorka. Could NPR’s parlous state have led to temporary blindness?
For his part, perhaps Deputy-Ass. Gorka (a Breitbart.com employee since 2014) cannot fill his mind with anything as pernicious as actual fact. On the other hand, he simply may be unwilling to “hear” anything that would impede the signing of his next paycheck.
It leaves us with the question that was aged to perfection during the days of Ashcroft and Gonzales. What is the nature of Gorka’s failure: Is it ignorance, or deceit?
