Tim Duncan is originally from the US Virgin Islands. He became a basketball player, essentially, because of a hurricane that devastated those islands.
I was 13 years old when Hurricane Hugo ripped through my home town in the Virgin Islands, and had my life and community forever changed. I know exactly what kind of devastation a hurricane of this magnitude can cause and want to do all I can to aid in the relief efforts for the islanders.
With your help, I will match financial donations up to $1,000,000 for relief efforts in the US Virgin Islands. In addition, I am also hoping to raise an additional $1,000,000 through this ask in relief supplies for this area.
Two hurricanes have hit the US Virgin Islands this summer, and … I don’t need to speak to the “US” response. It’s very similar to the GOP-led government’s handling of the tragedy in Puerto Rico, except it’s gotten less press.
But Tim Duncan, called the best power forward ever to play the game, is doing something to help.

He’s gone far beyond the program’s original goals, and isn’t slowing down.

The chain is a major sponsor of the San Antonio Spurs, the NBA team Duncan played for in a record-setting 19-season career. They’re brick-and-mortar in Texas and Mexico (and they’re amazing), and their hurricane relief went to Florida for Irma: www.iamatexan.com/…
Now they’re helping in the Virgin Islands. www.heb.com/...
