Members, during debate, Sen. Bernie Sanders proposed free college tuition. Secretary of State Clinton stated too expensive.
As a conservative, I view money as a tool to be put to good use. I approve President Obama’s effort vehicles use less fuel; this has not only saved Americans money at the pump, it is of vital importance our strategic reserve as well as importing foreign oil. And of course the air is cleaner.
I also approve the efforts the better light bulbs, which are saving us money on our electric bill.
Now, those of us during the Carter years remember that special education, CETA. I was thinking about it and remembered, Comprehensive Employee Training Act. CETA was designed to train people for better jobs. The act was approved by Congress and went into affect.
After awhile, people began to wonder what happened. It turned out the money was largely spent by city or county offices for police, fire and teachers...and to train people already on the payroll for more training for a higher salary.
I propose to begin using money for helping get a high school diploma, trade schools, and community colleges. I reserve regular college tuition for people who qualify for careers such as medicine or nursing or engineering.
The idea is to get people a better job and out of the rut. It is of importance to get people out of minimum wage.
And I do agree with you money that is put to bad use. I oppose the coal industry using profits to pay lobbyists to encourage state legislators to oppose solar or wind or other. Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged the hero true capitalists oppose lobbyists.
Using myself as an example, I was trained in electronics, and February 2016 I applied NASA for astronaut. I am also interested in optics and want to get training in opticianry. I want to learn more about optics — at the same time I recognize the importance of having a good job.
(The reason I was not accepted is NASA is still training for ISS. I am working on using nuclear power and an entirely different flying. Anyone interested contact me.)
