Yes, life can be confusing sometimes. The PWBP community has been facing some real-life conundrums lately. The Peeps ask, “When will our national nightmare be over?” Or closer to home, “When will BfitzinAR return?” Pooties demand, “Why is my food bowl empty? Again.” At other times, our conundrums are existential. Woozles wonder, “Why do they keep asking ‘Who’s a good dog?’’ when they know it’s me!?” Birdzees look into a mirror and consider, “Is my twin trapped in a parallel universe? And when did I become a twin in the first place?”
When we were in grade school, we asked simpler questions. Sometimes silly ones. Tonight, let’s go back — waaaay back — to an earlier era when these critter-inspired riddles were all the rage. They appeared about 1910 in a series called “Conundrums.”
But first, a brief word from our sponsor along with the basic rules: This an open thread for animal lovers and anyone else who needs a smile, a lift after a hard day, or just to touch base with the community. The PWB Peeps diaries provide a respite from the news, so no pie fights from the outer blog allowed. Share animal photos (no snakes or creepy crawlies, please), tell pet tales, ask questions, discuss anything and everything , and be kind to one another. : )
Feel free to attach Community Links for Kossacks in Need anywhere in the thread.
Now, on to the play-yard blog!
And of course, we will begin with a classic childhood joke. An oldie but goody. Remember this one? More importantly, do you remember the answer to the riddle?
Maybe you’ve heard some of these riddles, maybe not. They were all new to me.
And finally, can anyone explain this one to me? Am I missing something?????
We will close with a rather cringe-inducing musical interlude courtesy of Garrison Keillor and A Prairie Home Companion…
Take it away folks. Any critter-inspired riddles or puns or bad jokes, or even good jokes, that you want to share? Or anything else that’s going on. The conversation is now open!
