12 days left, and the race I want to highlight today is a big deal. House of Delegates district 28 is for the seat left open by Virginia House of Delegates Speaker Bill Howell (R). He is retiring, and flipping his district blue would be a huge win for the commonwealth. The sole democrat in this race is Joshua Cole. He’s a preacher and a progressive, young and ready to get Richmond going in the right direction. Here is a breakdown of his district from pdxbuckeye. One key point I took from his analysis, is half of the 18 precincts underperformed the already low voter turnout percentage of 29%. That means there are plenty of votes out there to be earned, and we don’t need to convert a single Trump supporter to win.
I’ve had the opportunity to hear Josh speak, and his time behind the pulpit shows. His message is delivered coolly, calmly, and confidently. He is a true progressive, pushing for free college education, criminal justice reform, and protecting a women’s right to choose. He is also able to speak about the issues while being kind and polite, bringing common decency back to politics when it is needed the most.
I have, and will continue, to support Josh’s campaign for the House of Delegates District 28 race, and I hope you will to. A donation can be made through his ActBlue page here. I’m also running for the First Congressional District in Virginia, and am doing all I can to help support the candidates running this year. Learn more about my campaign below.
