RNC Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel is on to Democrats’ nefarious plan.
“The Democrats have a playbook. We know it: It’s resist, obstruct,” she told Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday.” “Now it’s, throw doubt on the administration, open as many investigations as possible, cloud the administration as much as possible, because they’re trying to run out the clock on 2018.”
That’s … pretty damned accurate. And it’s nice that the RNC chair sees 2018 hanging out there like a big The End sign. However, unlike eight (8) Benghazi hearings and the endless efforts to find something, anything, wrong with Hillary Clinton’s email, the problem for Trump is that there’s genuinely a lot of there there. This isn’t a Republican-dominated Congress cobbling together reasons to investigate a Democratic administration and candidate. This is a Republican-dominated Congress reluctantly agreeing that a Republican regime warrants investigation.
So, when the RNC chair says this …
“I’m calling for an end to the investigations about President Trump’s campaign colluding with Russians,” she said. “There’s been no evidence of it. I don’t think that should continue.”
Someone might want to remind her that, not only is there enough evidence to support these investigations, including the Special Counsel investigation, her fellow Republicans agree—because if they hadn’t agreed, the investigations wouldn’t exist.
“The American people want it to stop,” McDaniel said. “It needs to end.”
The American people … didn’t approve of Comey’s firing and overwhelmingly wanted an independent investigation.
A new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll conducted after President Trump’s firing of FBI Director James Comey indicates that 78 percent of Americans would prefer that an independent commission or special prosecutor investigate Russia’s involvement in the 2016 presidential election.
So what is McDaniel talking about?
“To me, that’s no obstruction,” she said. “This is a fishing expedition to try to run out the clock for the Democrats. The American people want it to stop. It needs to end.”
Oh. The American people. Got it. She means the Koch Brothers.
