The wife and I attended the National Association of Drug Court Professionals (NADCP) conference at National Harbor the 8th through 12th of July.
The conference was held at the Gaylord National Harbor.
I took a few shots at night
This is probably my last conference with these folks. I could stay on as a volunteer, but I need some time to decide about that.
We toured the Botanical Gardens
We moved on Wednesday from the Gaylord to the Omni Shoreham by the National Zoo. I picked it because it was by the zoo and I got a good deal. I didn’t realize it was a great hotel and an historic gem. The grounds were lovely
We walked the mall a bit early Thursday as the heat rose from 82 to 95, then spent the rest of the day inside the Art Museum.
Lincoln and FDR rounded out the walk. I wonder how many tRumpites could walk these monuments and agree with ANY of the inspirational quotes?
On Tuesday, backing up a bit, we toured the new African American Historical Museum. Very moving. Free, but you need to pre-order tickets. When you go in, you can go up or down. Down is the elevator to the big historical exhibit starting in the belly of the slave ship. Three floors up to the main floor. Then up the escalators to the historical floor and the cultural floor.
Friday morning was set for the zoo. We toured the Panda exhibit, but it was getting too hot to see the rest of the zoo.
My favorite photo of the trip:
