Chvlle is a democratic locale in the middle of a red congressional district (5th) lately. Our GOP rep Tom Garrett met with Jason Kessler in his Washington office in March & was photographed with him. Now he says he regrets it (of course he would now) and claims he didn’t know who Kessler was. (Kessler organized the Unite the Right white supremacist rally that terrorized Chvlle residents last weekend). A part of me believes that Garrett might be that ignorant, because he admitted to two national media outlets that he had not read the House health care bill that he voted for. He stated, “That’s why we have staff.” He has kicked the Indivisible group protestors off the property in front of his office. Looks like we have some strong DEM challengers running to oppose Garrett in 2018, among them Roger Dean Huffstetler, Marine Corps vet, and Andrew Sneathern, attorney, who has been endorsed by Kizr Khan (Did you know that the Khans are residents of Chvlle?). It will be tough to beat Garrett in this reliably red district, but to ally yourself to Trump, as Garrett has, is to condone racism and domestic terrorism.
