DANNY PLAUGHER is the Democratic candidate for the Board of Supervisors in Henrico, Virginia. I know him well. He’s a great person who is the second in his family to graduate from high school and the first to graduate from college. If he wins, we’ll have a Democratic majority on the Board. Danny’s wealthy GOP opponent has poured a LOT of his own money into this race. The GOP understands the value of these local seats — and we’d better get on the stick!
Danny’s district is in the hotly contested #VA07, so helping Danny also helps Abigail Spanberger!
#FunFact: Danny's house was on my canvass walk sheet yesterday and his very pregnant wife, Jan, answered the door. I asked when she was due and she said “Today!” — Aleurophile

By Karen Simester:
The November elections are quickly approaching and many voters focus solely on the national or state candidates at the top of the ticket. But whether talking about taxes, schools, roads, or services, local government decisions have the most direct impact on residents.
In the race for Brookland District Supervisor there are important differences in the candidates’ backgrounds and perspectives and who they would represent. Danny Plaugher will see the issues that come before the Henrico Board from the
viewpoint of service to the people of Henrico and ask, “what is in their best interest?”
Danny’s entire professional life has been focused on public service. He has spent time successfully working on advocacy for increased funding for higher education and serves on the VCU Alumni Association. As executive director of the Virginians for High Speed Rail (VHSR) Danny helped drive the increase in passenger rail service at the Staples Mill Station and improvements to the station and
connecting transit loops.
Danny also serves on various community service boards, including the Advisory
Committee for the Partnership for Smarter Growth. An advocate for Smart Growth, Danny realizes how unmanaged expansion and development can result
in transportation gridlock and overcrowded schools to the detriment of our quality of life. He has called for the creation of more safe, walkable, mixed use neighborhoods with a range of housing opportunities and choices. He also supports prioritizing revitalization over new development and bringing safety improvements like street lights and pocket parks to older neighborhoods.
Danny will be a voice for equitable investment in all Henrico’s public schools to ensure opportunity for all our children regardless of zip code. And his campaign has not relied on heavy support from business or commercial interests that could influence his perspective or his vote.
Given Danny Plaugher’s background and approach I strongly believe he is the best candidate to represent the people of Brookland on the Henrico Board of Supervisors.
