With apologies to this wonderful website, this is clearly the most robust endorsement Nancy Pelosi has received thus far.
And I have to agree with President Obama. To me, the arguments about finding new, younger leadership make as much sense as benching Tom Brady for a rookie quarterback … just because we’re tired of Brady winning Super Bowls.
The New England Patriots obviously shouldn’t do that, and neither should Democrats.
From CNN:
"I think Nancy Pelosi, when the history is written, will go down as one of the most effective legislative leaders that this country's ever seen," Obama said at a live taping of "The Axe Files" podcast, produced by the University of Chicago Institute of Politics and CNN.
…
Obama's praise of Pelosi comes as a group of House Democrats who are seeking generational change in the party's top ranks argue Pelosi has become a political anchor around its candidates.
Obama said he didn't want to weigh in on the leadership fight but called Pelosi an "extraordinary partner" before complimenting her abilities as a legislator.
Uh, yeah. Are you happy you can get an affordable health insurance policy despite your preexisting conditions? Thank Nancy Pelosi.
Hopefully, we can get the speaker fight behind us and get on with the business of stopping Donald Trump in his tracks.
Nancy Pelosi just got President Obama’s imprimatur. That’s good enough for me.
