Received this e-mail today from U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill’s (D. MO) re-election campaign:
Last year, the Republican-led FCC voted to end the free and open internet as we know it.
The decision to repeal net neutrality was dumb and misguided. Without these critical protections, internet service providers will be able to censor, block, slow down or slap a fee on any site of their choosing. This decision was a massive gift to huge corporations that will hurt Missourians and stifle small businesses’ ability to grow.
The internet needs to remain a place where information and innovation don’t go to the highest bidder.
I’m fighting as hard as I can to restore a free and open internet but I can’t do it alone. I need to know that 5,000 folks are standing with me by midnight tonight. If you support net neutrality, add your name now.
Thanks for your support.
Claire
