Well, Verizon had to be subpoenaed to get the information, but it’s been found that Scott Pruitt wasted our tax dollars in more ways than one.
He paid $43,000 to have a “Cone of Silence” built especially for him, when the EPA already had one.
But he has an(other) excuse.
Per the WaPo, the GAO already concluded that Pruitt broke federal spending laws by using over $5,000 without first providing congressional notice.
He has also told Congress that he did not realize the size of the price tag, and that he would not have given the project his thumbs up if he had known.
Acting administrator Andrew Wheeler has reportedly said that he will not take down the booth, since it would be “expensive to tear it apart.”
So, worse than lying to Congress. Worse than spending more than he was allowed. He didn’t even KNOW how much the goddamn thing cost?
And worse than all those combined, he used his overpriced, unnecessary, illegal contraption to make exactly ONE 5-minute phone-call to the president.
But no matter. I hear he plans a lucrative career selling “portable cones of silence” to other narcissistic, power-hungry, corporate-types.

Good to get rid of one of the cabinet-members more out for himself than the public interest.
Only 14 more to go.
