After recent discussion, I went searching for an article by the Washington Post that posted the transcript they obtained of the meeting where Kevin McCarthy, Paul Ryan, and Steve Scalise discussed their visit with the Ukrainian PM in 2016, when Donald Trump was still just a Republican candidate. This is the one in which McCarthy famously said
There’s two people, I think, Putin pays: Rohrabacher and Trump … [laughter] … swear to God.

It’s worth re-reading, to see that at one time Kevin McCarthy knew full well what he claims not to know now:
McCarthy: The Russians hacked the DNC and got the opp research that they had on Trump.
Here’s the edit history of the page. It shows that the article was present on the WaPo site on October 12, and missing on November 6 of this year. I asked the folks at Talking Points Memo to look into this, I will update if I hear anything.
