This is a video rich diary.
In an interview with long-time UFO research George Knapp, former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D, Nevada) called for renewed investigation of UFOs, as well as further public release of previous investigations.
I’ll bet you anything China is spending some money checking this out. I’ll bet you anything KGB Putin is spending some money checking this out.
While in the Senate, Reid sponsored funding to study UFOs in the Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Application Program.
Military sources have released a few UFO videos in recent years, including the Gimbal UFO and the FLIR1 UFO video.
A Navy pilot who witnessed one of these objects has spoken to the press about it.
That CNN report also shows that funding secured by Reid went to his long time friend and campaign contributor, Robert Bigelow, who also talked about his UFO research on 60 Minutes.
This relationship between Reid and Bigelow raises questions about possible impropriety. Plus, the Pentagon responded in the CNN report above that it had priorities other than UFOs. Nevertheless, the sightings occurred.
Some say that the question of flying saucers has been settled as cameras have become ubiquitous.
Yes, we have settled it, but not like the cartoon seems to imply. Something is happening that we are not sure of. Yes, the U in UFO stands for unidentified. The questions are if there is nonhuman intelligence behind any them, and if there are any associated risks or gains, technological, spiritual or otherwise.
There is a now a lot of video and photographic evidence. The problem is that technological advances also mean that there are also a lot of fakes. Here is a small sampling of reports and video from reputable sources.
There are many hours of Kumburgaz UFO video, BTW. It happened over many months, so the night guard witness was able to get high quality video and call in other witnesses. I have seen video experts say it’s real, and haven’t seen clear evidence of fakery. Whatever the truth is on that case, there is lots more.
Others witnesses are less reputable, but have many hours of video shot over years.
Even crazier is when people seem to summon UFOs
In other cases, the video evidence has been disputed, but there are many witnesses, including reputable people risking safe careers to come forward. Perhaps most notable is Lynne Kitei and her experiences in Phoenix.
The Stephensville, TX sightings when President Bush was vacationing nearby are also worth mentioning.
This is just a small sampling. It’s still happening and it’s worldwide.
For disclosure, my only UFO encounter was seeing two orange lights “flying” around Mauna Kea. Orange lights are some of the most commonly reported UFOs.
As Senator Reid said, other countries are almost certainly studying it. If there are any potential technological advantages to be gained, those who are studying it will stand to gain. Beyond technology, there might be biological, spiritual or consciousness aspects to these phenomena. Maybe it’s all natural events with no intelligent beings. At any rate, ignoring it allows religious zealots to frame it as demons or angels. Scientific and reality based investigations might yield new insights that can be grounded in the messy world of real life.
Either that or it’s just a bunch of hoaxers, hallucinations, and misinterpretations of mundane events, which seems unlikely for 100% of the reports.
